Install only one antivirus program

There are many antivirus vendors who would bundle their products with offers of free trial when you purchase a computer or buy a software. While it is tempting to try such offers, all you need is one reliable antivirus program in addition to the MalwareBytes program I discussed in my earlier Blog post on December 31, 2013.

I have tried a number of antivirus programs in the past and had a lot of trouble in removing some of those programs when I decided to remove them.  The computer's uninstall feature would not completely remove any of them. I had to use special removal programs from the vendor's web sites to remove them, except for one robust antivirus program which required a complete reinstall of the entire operating system. The only antivirus I use now is Microsoft Security Essentials, which is also free to use and quite reliable. I am sure that there are other comparable programs out there and you should feel free to use them.
